| INTRODUCTION RADSIL-RAD 1012G is a low viscosity UV curable clear coating designed to be applied via direct or reverse gravure. When cured with the appropriate energy level provides a high gloss finish. When RADSIL-RAD 1012G is applied with a 360-line qch (quadrangular cylinder head) on paper and film, a very smooth surface is produced. RADSIL-RAD 1012G will cure at 125 FPM with one 200 hundred watts per inch focused medium pressure mercury vapor lamp. RADSIL-RAD 1012G will cure at higher line speeds when using two 200 hundred watts per inch focused medium pressure mercury vapor lamps with the same cylinder head. RECOMMENDED USES RADSIL-RAD 1012G can be used where the end use requires a high gloss release coating with durability, mar, chemical resistance and moisture resistance on a variety of plastic and paper substrates. RADSIL-RAD 1012G has been tested on paper stocks with varying degrees of basis weights i.e. Clay-coated Kraft and 100 lb. Clay-coated Cover Stock and some plastic films i.e. KoradÒ Acrylic Film and Polyethylene. RADSIL RAD 1012G is used in applications where low peel strengths are required for acrylic and rubber based adhesives. DIRECTIONS FOR USE RADSIL-RAD 1012G is intended to be applied via gravure direct or reverse methods. Heating the product before application can improve the smoothness of the cured film. RADSIL-RAD 1012G will yield peel strengths between 15-20 grams per inch with a gloss level between 70-80% when measured on Byk Gardner Glossmeter at 60°. RADSIL UV Release Coatings are intended to be used as supplied. No additions (i.e. photoinitiators, sensitizers, diluents, etc.) are normally required. DO NOT ADD SOLVENTS TO RADSIL PRODUCTS. IF

RELEASE APPLICATION RADSIL UV Release Coatings may be applied by many different processes varying from direct gravure to flexographic methods. RADSIL UV Release Coatings are compatible with most Acrylic or Rubber-based laminating or pressure sensitive adhesives. The variables that control release properties are the chemistry of the adhesive as well as proper curing and film weight. Higher film weights tend to seal more of the substrate allowing less of the adhesive to attach itself to the substrate forming another bond. We recommend that the application of the release coating for varying film weights be examined carefully for the best results.
